Do not use common abrasive cleaners which can destroy the protective sealant on the granite. This gave the surface a smooth finish and protects the faux granite paint pattern. Use a lint free cloth or paper towel and a specially formulated granite cleaning product regularly to clean the counter then dry the area with a separate clean cloth or paper towel. The following steps will help you achieve this with your granite countertops.

Using harsh chemical cleaners on a regular basis will strip your countertops of sealant faster. The drying process after the initial paint job and in between each layer is the most important part of the faux granite process so be patient. If you spill something on the surface blot it right away with a paper towel and dry with a dishcloth to prevent moisture from seeping into the pores. A quick dry polyurethane was re applied after two hours which dried in less than 24 hours.

Daily maintenance will help keep your counters looking great for longer. Remove tough stains from a granite composite sink by reaching for your choice of some common household products. Spray the stains with a 50 50 mix of white vinegar and water or apply a paste made with baking soda and a little water to the stains. Such topical dressings are not for maintenance or repair however and such products are not what make the countertop shiny.

Avoiding acids and abrasive cleaners. Use soap water for daily cleaning. The natural contours and grooves of your leathered granite are the reason you chose this finish in the first place and it is a terrible thing to see those beautiful features become a hindrance. Rinse the sink and then wipe it dry.

Use a cleaner suitable for granite. While you can use soap and warm water there are many cleaners available on the market that are designed for use with granite. Vinegar and lemon based cleansers contain high levels of acid and should be avoided on granite countertops. You can clean your countertops regularly with good old soap and water.

Clean them daily with a damp cloth and a few drops of dishwashing soap. A temporary granite polish like the topical conditioning stone polish can be used periodically weekly to monthly as you like to enhance the shine for the ultimate in natural stone and granite care. Glass cleaners and bleach are not recommended for granite countertops and can take away the shine. The best way to mitigate this is to make sure your supplier and installer seal your granite surface with a powerful sealant.

Thus creating the opportunity for damage to set in easier as the porous makeup of the granite becomes exposed. Afterwards rinse thoroughly with water and dry with paper towels or a soft cloth. This doesn t mean that that the stone requires no regular maintenance.
