Tessellating Stars Quilt Pattern

I drew up a draft of the pattern on paper and colored it in for reference in order to assemble the finished blocks with ease.

For me it was challenging to visualize it on my own without the reference. Tessellating stars from jelly roll strips and a give away carin october 1 2009 at 8 15 am i think this would make cool snowflakes so i think i would used whites and creams to make the stars and blues to do the background. If you know the work of m c. Tessellating stars i have made a tessellating stars quilt multiple times in the past 25 years.

Since then the variety has been downsized to 100. This quilt had to be created one block at a time using a design wall. Of all the quilts i ve ever made this was the first and only one where i needed a draft. The edge of one block forms the edge of the other block.

You can see 4 red stars and a gold one in the center. The only thing that could of made it prettier would of been if i had used the 150 colors available at the time. I m also making one of these tessellating star patterns using batiks and black. Interlocking is the best word to describe it.
